Borovets In Winter

Borovets is an ideal destination for a winter holiday.  As Bulgaria's oldest ski resort it caters well for all levels of ability on the slopes and enjoys consistent snow cover. There are also plenty of other diversions to entertain you on your visit including horse drawn sleigh rides through the forests and day trips to Sofia for the opera, and the 14th century Rila Monastery.

Beginner skiers are catered for by the excellent ski school with over 200 multi lingual instructors.  Intermediates are spoilt for choice with plenty exciting terrain to explore.  Advanced skiers can experience the world cup downhill run and the off-piste in the bowls under Moussala peak. Boarders are well provided for with the addition of the Rotata half pipe.  This has a vertical drop of 320m and has its own lift.

Other activities in the resort during the winter include:

  • snowshoeing
  • cross-country skiing
  • sleigh rides
  • skidoo rides
  • floodlit skiing
